DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, March 16th for some fun with the family and some close to home trout fishing. We invite all supporters\, their families\, and their children to join us from 10AM – 2PM as we close out the trout pond for this season. \nWe’ll have fly casting demonstrations and hands on lessons available as well as a few spare fly rods. The Gardens Park Pond at LaFortune Park is a great way to introduce a youngster to fly fishing. All Oklahoma fishing regulations apply and anyone over 16 years of age must have an Oklahoma fishing license. \nLunch will be available to all OKTU/TFF members and their families at no cost. Non-members can enjoy lunch for a small donation. We’ll have hot dogs\, chips\, snacks and soft drinks available. \nThe Tulsa Trout Pond is located on the corner of \n51st & Hudson in Tulsa. Parking is available at the library and in the LaFortune Gardens Park parking lot adjacent to the pond. Enter off 51st street. We hope to see you there! \n

DESCRIPTION:That is the name of our Dave Whitlock TU Chapter’s fly-fishing education program offered via the Jenks Community Education Program. \n\n\n\n\nOur motto has become … “If you want to learn to fly fish or know someone that wants to learn to fly fish and you don’t want to teach them yourself\, send them or come to us\, we teach fly fishing.” \nThis all-in-one\, single day course on fly fishing covers the basics of many things in fly fishing. Terminology\, when\, where and how to catch a variety of Oklahoma’s many species\, recognizing these species\, covers fly tying\, learning the most important fly-fishing knots and how to tie them and finally\, how to cast a fly using a fly rod. \nThe clinic is offered at the Jenks High School Aquatics Center on the campus of Jenks High School where we can teach casting technique on the water. Offered indoors\, rain or shine for a fee of only $35\, it is a course many\, now seasoned fly casters\, have taken. All proceeds go to your Chapter for other programs. \n\n\n\n\nSign-up on the Jenks Community Education web site. DESCRIPTION:Join us on March 2nd for our 6th Annual Mystery Fly Tournament. This fun event will feature a fly that should fish well on our local home water\, the Lower Illinois River. We’ll meet in the Watts parking lot at 8:00AM. Flies will be available for a $5 donation. \nInitially\, everyone has the opportunity to purchase one fly. Once everyone has purchased a fly\, if there are any left\, the rest will be made available for an additional $5.00 donations. \n\n\n\n\nAfter checking in and getting your fly you do not have to stay at Watts. All legal access areas of the river are open to the tournament. Tournament scoring begins at 9:00AM and ends at Noon. Please return to Watts for lunch and to turn in your score. \nWe’ll have prizes for the most trout caught and the biggest trout caught.
